LOL! Just started working on it yesterday.  got some good doors put on it, cleaned out the inside, fixed a few wiring issues.  it's on its way.  just time.

I've been wheeling 39.5's for 3 seasons now (going on my 4th).  It has been worth the $$$ to have the bigger tires.  My front axle has 5.29's, Aussie locker, ARP knuckle and hub studs, Longfield 30 splines, Longfield Chromo hub gears, and soon to have 5th studs.  My main issue has been keeping the knuckle studs tight.  Hydro assist and 39.5" are tough on the Toyota knuckles.

just curious, do you know if it's the studs or nuts working looses, or are the studs actually stretching?  I have 37's now with hydro assist and mine come loose everytime i go wheeling.  i'm constantly checking them.

The ARP's aren't suppose to stretch so it's either the nuts (I bought new ones from Marlin for the next go around) or the knuckle threads stripping.  My passenger knuckle has 2 stripped holes.  I've got spare knuckles that will get Longfield 5th studs to them.  My buddy always fought loose arms until he added the 5th studs.  I'm hoping that takes care of my problem as well.

Very well might.

My buddy is runnin 42's on his yota axles with hydro assist.  We made a fifth stud kit awhile back and i do no believe he has problems with the nuts backing off

does the 5th stud get drilled, and welded to the inside, or can you drill and tap threads into the knuckle?

I drilled and welded my 5th stud to the inside of the knuckle.

did you have to leave a small gap so that you could shim the 5th stud so that it matches the steering arm?

No, I test fitted everything with the arm on so everything was snug, then tacked it in.

I did mine similar to this except I welded the stud instead of the nut. (pics on pg 3 and 4)
