3rz to 3rz swap???? huh?got your attention yet??
« on: Jan 28, 2011, 12:42:02 PM »
thats right! 3rz to 3rz swap orig motor was a distributor, trying to swap to the coilpak motor. cant seem to find info on which engine harness # i need. its a plain jane no cruise, nothin special. ive dropped $200 on a coilpak harness from a 96  4x4 AUTO trans..... no reverse switch or 4X4 dash light plugs, no big deal, can deal with that. but my TPS is a 3 prong and the harness ive got for this proj. only has a plug for a two prong tps. engine will fire but wont run.....TPS has to be in circuit to run this badboy............HELP

ya sounds like a lot of work to not get any more power/torque. seems like the only advantage would be more modern.??

I needed a new motor so I bought one with the coil on plug ignition. So I figure it's newer might be better so why not try to use it. If anything I'm just gonna use my old ignition setup on the new motor.

ya i understand getting a new motor, and that being what you got. i would just swap the original harness like you stated. you might run into more problems than would ever be worth it just for something a little more modern. but then again maybe its an easy plug and play without having to change maybe other harness/wires.

I have no idea if you plan on modifying the motor for more power or not, but I was told by LC Engineering that the older motor with the distributor was easier to make power on than the distributorless motors.

Got that right.
