I just talked to Marlin and he said this could be casued by ecessive main shaft end play. That is somthing they don't know about.
Marlin just over hauled my R150F and showed me how mine was poping about of gear because of it. I know a few people with High mileage trucks and they have that 3rd and 5th gear whine. Those toyota dealer ship guy(from my dealings with them) don't know jack
