Topic: Towing with a 4runner

This has been talked about before but I couldn't find it here. I want to know if a 89 4runner with stock suspension, rebuild 3.0 and rebuilt auto can tow a 85 xcab on a trailer? I would be towing from Fortuna CA to Johnson Valley. I know the hills will suck but 90% of the drive is flat. I would add a large transmission cooler and trailer brake controller.

I had a 89 v6 stdcab sb 5spd
on a uhaul heavy trailor I had me rig, nothin really heavy.
I left the bubs unlocked and when stop go stop go like in town I would use 4lo
it really sucked at take off, but I think you will be ok.

richardmud towed on a tow dolly the 89 stocker, 55 was ok and stopped decent
he towed it with a 91v6 runner
