Toyo Vs Irok
« on: Dec 27, 2010, 02:14:43 PM »
So I have an 88 Ext Cab sitting on Diamond Axles with a Marlin 6" Lift. My wife went to buy me rubbers for x-mas and the Toyo's are spendy. Any recommendations? My truck will see the trail just as much as it see's the street!

Toyo MT LT385/70R16 130Q D/8 (38X15.00R16) on a  16x11 wheel at $373.00 each.

Or

Irok TrXus 38.5x14.50R16LT on a 16x12 wheel at $402.99 each.

Or

Irok TrXus 37X12.50R16LT on a 16X10 Wheel at $379.00 each.

Or

Irok 37x12.50R16LT on a 16x10 Wheel at $379.00 each.
If you see it, its for sale.

Were do you live ? what kind of terrain do you wheel in ?   its going to be a trade off  . the iroks will perform better offroad  and will wear faster    were the Toyo will perform better on road  and last a lot longer .

I live in Washington. So some woods trails, rocks, mud, snow. I know there is a trade off, just want input.
If you see it, its for sale.

Bias Iroks wear very fast on pavement, especially in the heat. Toyos are pretty damn stiff though so...... Iroks by far better off road and Toyos last a long time on the street.... Good luck on the choice!

I'd like to see the km2 have more siping and offer better lateral tracion before I dump so much money on them, but they are about the cheapest option for many sizes.

I'd go toyo if I had a bigger, torquier engine.

x2 on what kneedownnate said for toyo on bigger torquier engine like diesels.
but x3 on km2's. i sure like my km2's for my light yota. drives really nice on road and performs offroad. not loud in my opinion. it had definitety dakota mt's when i got it. those were louder.

but if your sticking to toyos or iroks i would say with equal mixed driving go with the toyos.

Currently running 37x14.5x15 and they perform flawlessly off road and drives quietly on pavement.

I had Swampers tsl before and I'll never buy thm again.....

A friend of mine had swampers irok and went to toyos because the performance was better and no death wobble

I'd have to look into it again, but I think those only weigh like 63 pounds each too!

well going to a 16" wheel, seems to make the tires more expensive then a 15.
so go with a 15" wheel and your prices will drop. :]
