T-case spine mount
« on: Dec 22, 2010, 09:24:22 PM »
So was just wondering the buggy project I picked up has a tcase spine on the rear case but no other tranny or tcase mount, question is should I add another mount to the front case or? I have seen a few rigs running only the spine and they wheel pretty hard, just wanting to make sure its strong enough. Any advise would be great thanks

if u are saying that the t-case mount is bolted to the back of the case, then yep its fine, thats how alot of guys run them.

ya it has the mount that bolts on to the bolts of the back of the tail housing. i just thought it was alittle long between the engine and the rear mount but i have seen more than one rig run it that way and never had a problem.....

ya it fine, lots of people run them.

one thing to check would be your motor mounts. these t-case mounts are a lot harder on the stock mounts so you may want to switch to solid motor mounts (if it dosent already have them.)

Actually, it is easier on the motor mounts. With the FROR, type t-case the engine/tranny/t-case is mounted four points, whereas with the stock set-up it is three points. The four-point mounting stabilizes the combo better then the three points. That was one of the first things we use to change on high torque drag car set-ups if it was only three points, three-point set-up would rip the MM’s on launch.
