New member from Colorado
« on: Dec 09, 2010, 10:48:20 PM »
Hey everybody! I've actually been a guest on this forum for over two years and figured it was time to start my own build thread since ive gotten so much info from it. I'm from Aurora CO, my truck is an 83 first gen pickup. I got the truck almost 3 years ago 100% stock but in rough condition. The previous owner wanted to do a restore on it but didnt have the time or means so the truck only drove 3k miles in the 11 years he had it, so ive been doing a lot of make up maintainance because of it. This was my only vehicle for about 2 years and is my daily driver. I'm in a 4x4 club so this truck serves double duty as my weekend wheeler. My plans for this truck is to keep it as a daily driver for a while but be able to do most trails in CO, so it will be over built for a DD but i dont plan on taking it on Carnage. Currently the truck has a fairly fresh 22r, with a top end rebuild about a month ago due to a blown head gasket. Weber 38 carb, and a 61c cam from Engnbldr.com, Marlin front bumper, marlin sliders, smittybuilt Xrc8 winch, converted the ac over to oba, budbuilt crossmember. Waiting in the garage to go on are brand new thirds with 4:88's, lock right in the rear, open front. Longfield outers, cromo rear axles, Marlins full face armor and total rebuild kits for both axles, and 33x10.5 bfg at's on black steelies.   :driving:

yea I am still in colorado.  I live in Kiowa.  Its a little bitty farm town, there are no stop signs or stop lights in the whole main drag of the town.  I work in denver so that is a bit of a drive every morning.

That is a bit of a morning drive. I would love to be somewhere again where there are no stop lights. Being in Aurora you can barely get into 3rd gear before you have to stop for a light.
