front output shaft fix while still in truck?

i need to put a new seal and bering on my front uotput shaft . can i do it without pulling the t case out?
my trucks a 85 4runner with a w56. shes pukin oil out the seal as fast as you put it in.

can i pull just the t case or is it easyer  to pull the whole thing out togather?

well i got it out. the inside looks like rusty chocolet milk . any good ways to clean it up? i'm doin this cheap!

Tear it apart and clean everything with soap and water in the kitchen sink. My gf loves it when I do that. A noodle strainer works great for little parts. Just make sure to dry the heck out of everything or you will get surface rust. When I tore my t-case apart I just printed direction for  installing 4.7 gears and it went quite smoothly :thumbs:

you guys use silicone between the t case and tranny? i got some gray permatex

why is the case toast? and use the gray silicone, works best IMO

i used paper gaskets and they kinda seep. I would use the grey stuff.

OK guys i have a question. the idler gear Bering and front output berings were in peases not just the little steel balls but also the outside metel rings. and the neddel berings everythings in the bottom of the case.i just got this truck it's a 85 4runner what would cause this? i no the guy let his kid drive it. is this damage normal?

probably ran low on gear oil. i would probably get a full transfer case rebuild and install all new bearings and what not.
