Front pinion angle
« on: Nov 11, 2010, 09:58:54 AM »
Pretty sure my pinion angle on my front 3rd is way off. When I turn the tires squeel and they dont look straight up and down when I have it fully turned. Im planning on moving my axle forward by drilling my spring perches and want to address my angle issue at the same time. I know moving it forward will only make the angle worse. What should the angle be and how do I measure it. I have one of those inclometers (or whatever theyre called) just dont know where to put it on the axle to read it correctly. thanks

sorry i dont know the exact specs,

but pinion angle is just that, a line coming directly out of the pinion, so if you meter is magnetic you could just put it on the flange.. how long of shackles do you have?.... and are the knuckle shims set up correctly?  pics would help alot

oop.... found my links

I would like good steering angle, and dont really care about the driveline angle. So I was reading something about around 5 degrees....does that sound correct?

I really dont know what springs or shackles I have, Just pieced together the height I wanted. Id say theyre 4inch shackles and no front drop bracket.
