Just picked up another 82 4WD longbed from the original owner the other day, barely got home before I started ripping it apart.  It's bone stock, even has the original wheels!  My Dad bought a truck just like this brand new, & had it lifted on 35's, but was stolen a few years later.  I've always wanted to build him another one and finally found one nice enough to pickup for him..  So for now the plan is to clean it up inside & out, get it running a littler better so it passes smog.  I'll post some pics as everything comes along..

Almost this exact truck is what got my family into 4-wheeling. . . . .over 25 years ago. My Dad had an 81 Blue long bed Sr5 like this one. Mom made him sell it to put a roof on the house.  :-\  Six months later he brought home an FJ40..

The next summer we met Marlin at the 1988 or 89 Rubithon, And that was that.
Good Sentimental stuff, I'm sure your Dad will love it!
all i want is a little more than i'll ever get!!

KILLER BUILD THREAD,   so if you ever read this OP   you said the 22re is not worth doing in your opinion   ive been contemplating it for a while and really want the 89 efi,   what are some of the main reasons you shy away from the swap,
its so clean
