AN Fittings
« on: Dec 20, 2004, 03:56:37 PM »
I was wondering if anybody could explain to me the sizing of AN fittings, or point me somewhere that explains it.  I am planning to put a fuel cell in my top secret project and they all have AN outlets but I don't know what size it is in normal numbers.  Thanks

Andrew

Well thats a good place to buy them I guess, but is there any type of conversion chart anywhere that tells me for instance what a -6AN would be equivalent to in a fractional size.  Somebody on here must know, they use this sizing on airplanes I think and it is used a lot in racing of various sorts.

I'm an aircraft mechanic ;)
real simple, the AN dash number if the fractional size in 1/16th inch, for example a -6 = 6/16(3/8) and a -8 = 8/16(1/2)

That's an actual ID dimension, right?
