Vented Rotors
« on: Jul 02, 2010, 10:53:46 PM »
Ran into another problem with finishing my truck!  :rivers: Decided to swap in some vented rotors while it was torn down. Got all the parts together from NAPA and Autozone. I bought 90 V6 calipers/pads, 82 LC rotors. Got every thing installed but the calipers because I can't bolt it up. The caliper gets hung up on the rotor and doesn't allow me to bolt it up. It contacts in the corner of the caliper.

I thought that maybe I should grind a bit off to clear it but other people have done this mod w/o any problems. I'm thinking of returning them to try out some 86 V6 calipers since they're cheaper. Has any one else had this problem? I will post pictures tomorrow.

Good luck with that, V6 calipers didn't exist until '88... :talkingn:

I'm guessing the calipers are touching at the very ends?  I wouldn't be worried about taking a touch of material off to make them fit.  I'm also guessing you bought the calipers from vatozone?
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??
