no, cab and bed mounts are in different places, some of the cab mounts will work, but not the rearmost, and with that, the bed mounts will need to be moved as well

it isnt rocket science, just need to move the mounts, the front radiator mount, and then front cab mount will be the same, after that, you will need to move the mounts

and that is if they are the same generation truck, if they arent, you are going to be dealing with a lot of otehr issues

Ive done this swap. It almost bolts right on. Rear mount on the cab is different on the extended cab, but cab still bolts on. Just add a mount for the rear of the cab. Bed even bolted on. The extended cab short bed frame is the same as a single cab longbed frame.

All you have to do is cut off the bedmounts that are the farthest forward. Everything else lines up and bolts together..

Before

Middle

After

anybody have any experience with ext cabs on first gen frames.  i got an very clean ext cab(only) for cheap.  id like to swap cabs with my 81 shortbed.  are any of the mounts the same.   i think i have to do a 1-1.5" body lift to clear horsecollar/ gas tank.  i was hoping to get the other frame to take measurements off of but that didnt happen.  thanks for your help. :beerchug:
