Clutch Plate direction
« on: Jun 22, 2010, 07:26:45 AM »
I am installing a clutch and the disk is not marked, (flywheel) side. The disk is offset. Dose anyone know whitch wat to install it? Also it is a used clutch so I don't know where it came from. Thanks for the help!

I have done quite a few clutches and I always forget which way they go and resort to the manual. I just put one in my truck (22RE) a couple weeks ago and the manual said the spring side of the hub goes toward the trans.

It also said it goes the other way on Land Cruisers? Never did a Land Cruiser so I wouldn't know for sure about that.

Usually, the protruding spring pack in the clutch goes toward the pressure plate, being that the flywheel usually doesn't have room for it.
