Topic: Really??? Moonlight Madness on account of snow???

Say it isn't so??? I am hearing rumors that Moonlight Madness has been changed because they are ascared  of snow. It has been in the 90's here in Fresno and not a cloud anywhere near the mountains in days days. Probably a 20 degree difference at Bald... and I am being generous with my degrees.
 I haven't seen anything official posted yet, just a lot of 4wheeler rumors... Can someone, who actually knows what they are talking about, tell me if this is true??? and where is the information coming from??? hint... website would be good!!!

By the end of this week snow at Bald will be super patchy.

They sent a post to are facebook and said that it will be July 16-18. You could also call extreme in Clovis. There is a lot of snow up there. The weekend of the may 22Th it was snowing for a few days. That weekend there was 3 to10' of snow on rock creek rd.

i was there yesterday crawling all over v-rock and hollywood, they are both bone dry

i would feel totally safe doing it at night.

Now making the tower that may be a different story, it got pretty nasty past the new fence

We camped Bald Mtn Memorial Day and it was slushy but melting fast.  Given the weather conditions, most of that snow would be gone within the next 2 weeks.  Moonlight run, 3 weeks away, but now postponed.

Thanks for the info... camped up there Memorial weekend, there was more asphalt showing than snow on the road, we caught the last snow storm on Friday and it melted real quick. There hasn't been a storm up there since. It's too bad they cancelled. Not everyone has weekends off and some people come from a long ways to attend this event. I am sure they have dissappointed alot of people

I talked to Dave today at extreme and its going to be the weekend of July 16Th for sure. Base camp had 2' of long patches of snow, and the road from tamarack to base camp is all snow.

Looks like mother nature tamed all those tricked out trail rigs???  See ya in about 5.5 weeks up there!

haha... our mostly stock rigs will still be up there on the 25th... campin in "patches" of snow and fartin around on the trail...
We will have to come up with another name for it since Moonlight Madness is taken...

Yep, my guess is us stock trucks will run the entire course that those fire-breathing trail rigs had to postpone......NOT CANCELED.... the event!!!!

Supposedly they clean up after the event...  what a joke... take a run the day after Moonlight Madness and see what it looks like... beer cans everywhere... the trail looked like a big garbage can

They do a great job at putting such a big event on with minimal help.   Yes it is unfortunate that a few people make all of us wheelers look bad but if everyone helped them clean up afterward, maybe we can continue to enjoy the run for many many years to come..... GREAT JOB CLOVIS IND.

Bravo, should be given to those occasional trail users that go up with friends and clean up after those that throw their beers cans, etc all over the place.  We all shares the trails, respect for what we all enjoy is in order.  Maybe those that like to litter can throw a few $100 dollar bills out as well!!!

We would appreciate your cooperation with that!!!
