So you guys made me go look at pricing for Krawlers. Screw that! They don't make any 15" rim sizes and they are way pricey. I think I am going to go for IROk's just have to scrape up some :twocents:

Taco~ when you say that you have blown alot of new mtr's, did you blow them all the same way? how did you blow them, Pavement pushing or when out wheeling? did you blow out or ripp the side walls? how many have you blown out already?

sorry for so many questions, Im just trying to get some feed back on the new mtrs since im trying to keep my eyes open for a good offroad tire that doesnt eat away like iroks do on the street..  wish the cash crop would harvest so i could afford 37" BFG Krawlers

Is there any difference in driving with or without bedlocks? It looks like many with bedlocks tear the side on the old MTR, and those who don't have bedlocks, don't have the same problems. At least not so much

Perhaps people with beadlocks are less careful of what the tire is doing.

Krawlers are worth the $$ in my opinion :twocents: They dont have a great sidewall either though but by far have the best traction. I was pretty dissapointed in iroks though. For a multi purpose DOT Approved tire i would run either Bfg Krawlers, Great traction but wear kinda fast, or creepy crawlers because they stick pretty well for a DOT tire and the sidewalls are tough as nails, but they run small so if your replacing 37" mtrs i would go with 38" creepys. And they are made for a 15" rim and lasted 2 years on a buddys truck who drove his on the street freqently. Or Bfg km2's work pretty well too. All 3 tires are some what pricey though.

I just bought a set of 40 old style mtr stickies brand new that a local ex competitor had. Are they as prone to damage as the regular mt/r?

I have been running the old school mtr's for some time and I have beat the crap out of them with issues other than one side wall which was from a tree branch that was in the right place at the wrong time. I think that branch would have went thru any tire tho.

I have the old style MTR 37 12.50 R15 and was more than impressed with them until KOH this year. I dont know if the rocks got sharper or my tires are braking down, but they took a beating. 2 sidewall 2" gashes and a ton of lugs ripped completely off. Luckily everything got volcanized and are holding air. But I dont know if I will buy them again as an offroad only tire. Luckily I got the five of them brand new on rims for 600 bucks.
