need help beatin the heat, compressor issue
« on: May 04, 2010, 06:06:03 AM »
I have an 85 with the 22re, I just replaced the blower motor, heater core, all the cables and the bezel, all sealed for the most part now. But now im tryin to get my a/c comp in, I DO have a compressor from a 91 22re but the mounting bracket from an 86(?)

I mocked it up and doesnt look like the pulleys line up, off bout an inch. I am a complete idiot sometimes so i could be wrong.

Would a 91 be r134a? or r12?
Should the pulleys line up? or should i just find a mount for a 91?

And i live in tx, so i do need a/c for the summer, shes my dd
All Im lacking is a flux capacitor and the ability to hit 88.

Do you have any pictures? My guess is that you need the mount from a 91, however if the compressor fits in the mount you have the pulley configuration on your crank may have to be changed.  Are you putting AC into a truck that didnt have it?

the question is, does the pulley on the compressor line up with the pulley on the crank or does the idler pulley??  and btw  that idler pulley adjuster bolt needs to be replaced.

that idler will NOT work with that compressor
