"Air care" is B.C equivalent of the California smog test.
Our vehicles must pass for us to reinsure, i hear it is as stringent as the CA test and i believe it is an American owned company doing the testing.
Right now the exchange rate is pretty much at par.

Why don't you call DMV and see what it would take to register a rig bought in Canada.  I know of some guys that had great difficulty getting them registered, but some have found that if a company can put a lien on the title, that they can be brought in.  Not sure of all the steps, but this is what I have read.  But that was off the internet.

Found some reading.

Just thought of something too.  Look for some Suzuki Samurai forums, especially those that are close to the border.  Cause they are importing in the longer Sammy models.  They might be able to help.

lol ya do what ya gotta do ;) I fibbed on the registration for my yota. No way in hell it's passing emissions...since it has none (anymore)....so I registered it at a buddies place in Tillimook  I live in Beaverton but on the form there was a field about half way down on the right that asked for the address of the vehicle if it was different than your living residence.

I think Dan's biggest issue is gonna be getting it through customs.  It has to have all the US standards of safety before being allowed in.
That's why these (pic below) aren't street legal here, cause they don't have ABS, air-bags and such, but they can be brought in under an agriculture lic.  Which means that they can't be driven on the streets, but on private property they can.  Even though in Japan/China these are all over the hwys.  And are fun to drive.  I have!
