What size tires and what gears are you running? That can tell us a lot.

little slow but not that slow, my old 84 would do 60 max with 37s and stock gears.

the 22r is not a power house, i would suggest a motor swap.

My 80 had a transplated 22r with a 5 speed 4.30 gearing, double roller chain, Downey header, 20r hilux head, etc, etc, rolling on 35's. on flat level ground with a tail wind I could get 75mph in 4th shift to 5th and it wouldn't hold the speed. 5th gear is a waste of time unless you are going downhill.

man I must have an unusually good running 190k mile 22r.  I can run it up to 80-85 with 5.29s and 37s, I can pull big hills and stay in 5th granted I do slow to about 60.  100% stock motor

To the original post.. If you need more spunk? Tune it up, free up the exhaust... If you want more, do a motor swap.
