sounds like the 3rz is on hold, not possitive yet dad wants to see how well the 22r runs in it before throwing the 3rz in he said if it runs good we'll just do the suspension first, either way i will be happy, plus thinking of having it shipped to me in tx... its a rediculous ride in a old yote! 36hrs!!! sorry he hasnt sent me pics of the truck yet i will try to get them up soon though!  :blah: sorry

x2. and if the 22r runs good then stick with it till it pops...or at least until you have everything else done to the truck that you want. good plans and i dont think you could pay me enough to make a 36 hour trip in yota haha

its all good.. :)

I bought this for $500 bucks and a blown head gasket 7 years ago and its still kicking with 37's Toyo and 5.29 in front and rear with duel cases. I am sure you can do the same with yours. 8)
1984 Toyota Pickup, EFI with duel cases, 5.29's in the diffs, 4" Trailer HD leafs in the front, Chevy's with 3" blocks and a track bar/pan hard bar in the rear with full exo cage.

sorry i am back n tx its in oregon i am waiting on my pops to send me pics of it, but the plans changed again lol it is now for sale i am gonna try to turn a good profit, cuz i found an 82 longbed (dream truck) for $500. and my dad is gonna try to pick up a totaled taco this weekend, still gonna try to shoot a couple pics up so if any one is interested in it i am just waiting on the title transfer. all the 85 needs is a brake master cyl the fuel issue was a coroaded carb so i got another stok carb from a buddy, and the windshield leaks in the rain! will try for pics soon!

ok so i have had this for sale for a little bit and not a single bite... and i am still without a POV in tx, so i have been looking around at prices to ship it here. the average is $900-1,000 shipped door to door. thats spendy but still cheapest option for a vehical, but i do wanna do a few things to it i was thinking a RUF, 35's, wheels... tryin to keep this on the cheap cuz my wife could pull the budget if she feels like it at any time lol

We are having a WFTW (wheelers for the wounded) event at marble falls May first.
http://www.wftw-sa.org/
That's my gray Toyota on the right behind the Wounded Marine.
The event is for Wounded soldiers but we can use all the volunteers we can.
If you go look me up. I'll be part of the Bomb fire comity Saturday. Sunday I'll be down for a few trail rides before drive home.

thanks guys i still havent got the truck here yet lol, i got a feww free-bee's for it i got a stock carb, and 6 ft. of 2-1/4 exhast tubing, and a magnaflow muffler, i was wondering on the RUF is it better and or cheaper to run a factory spring hanger and a boomarang shackle or put a spring hanger o n and strait shackles? and with either set up do the both require a driveline mod... length or amoutn of travel?

I did my RUF for a few reasons.  stretch the wheels base to clear my 36" tires and cheap lift.
In addition to RUF with a few leafs added (5 total). I already had high steer installed and IFS box mounted. I later had to move the IFS box more forward to keep the TRE from hitting each other.
I haven't crome across anyone that did RUF with stock push pull steering.
But to answer your questions.
Yes the front drive shaft would have to be longer. I run a square drive shaft. You don't have to use a drop hanger.
I got around 4" with RUF, 2" drop hanger and 5.5" straight "H" shackles I made. For the flex part...it will out flex your stock brake lines. So that will have to be addressed IMHO.
Sense the RUF moves your axle 2" forward and if you go high steer. The intermediate shaft that goes from the steering column to the IFS box will have to be modified to make it longer. Shock hoops would correct the angle of the shocks as well.
Aside from the High steer, brake lines, IFS box, and shock hoops. I made everything myself.
My IFS mounted.

My drop hang I made along with the winch plate and bumper.

Home made shackles and square driveshaft.
