« on: Mar 12, 2010, 12:35:16 PM »
83 PU with disc all the way around and a FJ80 MC. Is a external residual valve required?

Thanks

An adjustable proportioning valve is required.

An adjustable proportioning valve is required.

Already have that. I was wondering if a 2 lb residual valve is also required?

Don't think so. The master being high on the firewall will cause around 2lbs of pressure, gravity. But never heard of having to install one on a toy.

this is taken right from the fj80 section of the marlin store..

Replacement master cylinder for older Pickup's and 4Runners with smaller bore (bore size is cast into right side of housing). Fits 1979-1995 Pickup/4Runner. Features 1" piston and residual valves for both front and rear. Works with both drum and disc brakes.

you should be perfectly fine without one sinse the master has one already built in..
the never ending build...

That's what I was thinking. I've seen the quote in Marlin's store, but I've seen on the net people have done it with and without the residual valve. I was just wondering if anyone had some experience either way.

Thanks
