Toyota tie rod end compatibility??
« on: Mar 09, 2010, 08:10:16 AM »
Hey I have done as much internet research as I can stand. I am simply looking for the diameter of an FJ62 tie rod end the right side with the draglink mount though both sides are the same. I linked the front of my 85 runner and it is low enough that I had to go back to stock steering arms. I am think the diameter is the same as and fj80 tie rod end, if so I can use my existing tie rod and drag link from my hy steer kit. Anybody know?

Maybe, the hole could stand to be reamed out a bit more, but its worth a go.

Thanks for looking into it man, I did get it figured out. I have an aversion to all hiem crossover steering, not that it would break it just looks like poo. I found out that chevy has tie rod ends with dampener holes that are not tapered. so my tie rod will be chevy and my drag link will be toy. The best part is I will retaper the steering arms from the top down and that should by me another inch and a half torwards flattening out my panhard bar, whick now is only at about 12 degrees anyways.
