This isnt even gonna be the main wheeler.  Ill put the trans and cases out of the 90 in it and the 3.90's so it'll be somewhat off roadable.  Ill put a r151f and dual ultimate in the 90 with the axles from the 83.  Ive already got a lockrite for the rear but i think Ill leave it welded, but Im sending off the $$ tomorrow for a v6 lockrite with carrier for the front.

Ive got a few things to fix before its street drivable again.  Like weld the rear upper shock mount on the rear as it broke free and beat the hell out of the underside of the bed.  I need to wire the stereo as 100 miles a day sucks without tunes   Mudflaps would get the man to look the other way at a few minor discrepancies...  The exhaust needs some serious help, as the manifold has a serious leak with a broken stud and the muffler is the end of it at the rear of the cab.  I should probobly bolt the seat down as well..... :gap:

I cant exactly give CR all the credit for whats wrong as the owner before him did some seriously half assed stuff but lets just say a lot of bandaids are going away.

Looks like a good beater 2 me, U guys should have seen the 82 Datsun W/ SAS I did, In 1986 there was no kit U could buy,U had 2 make it up as you went. Had Toy Springs & front axle , 9" ford in back w/5.29's & spool 36" tsl ss. It was so Rusty U could throw a cat through it  so I had to get rid of it. Had about $10G's in it and dam* near gave it away. :hammerhead:   :smack:

Ok kids I had the weekend off so I spent it wrenching on both the bucket and a buddies yota's.  I replaced everything in the exhaust system except the muffler.  The manifold had a broken stud, the heade pipe had one of the pipes broken totally off and the muffler was just sorta on the pipe.  The rear shock mount is back in the game for good now.  The truck drives MUCH better when the front end isnt trying to fall off the truck, I tightened the u-bolts so the u-bolt plates dont rattle anymore.  I even adjusted the valves and tuned it up.  I finally lowered the float on the webber, adjusted the idle mixture and hooked up the electric  choke.  Adjusted the timing so its way closer to being correct now.  But even after that I think Ive got a burnt valve so on my next weekend off Im gonna pull the head to gain some hp back.

Maintnance would have taken care of 90% of the problems Ive found so far.  Like the burnt valve would have never happened if the exhaust headpipe wasnt broken in 2 pieces.  The truck wouldnt have wandered so much if the front u-bolts were anywhere close to being tight etc.

I thought about it all night at work and I think I convinced myself to go ahead and swap all the good stuff off the bucket next weekend and get the 90 going for the winter.  I was planning on leaving the bucket together for the winter but I really dont feel like tearing the head off right now.  Beings its supposed to snow this week Ill drive the bucket to work if need be but I really dont wanna drive it with the head fawked up.  I also wouldnt be able to get the needed parts by next weekend anyway. (engnbuilder cam, downey header etc.)  I have all the other parts, a good head, gaskets etc.  So The 90 will get finished so I can really tear up the snow!
