Equal to a Bilstein shock
« on: Jan 21, 2010, 03:35:06 PM »
Do you guys know of any other manufacturer that has a shock that is close to equal with a Bilstein.  I have 2 trucks here at work that I need to replace the shocks on and they prefer to run Bilsteins but they are backordered until March and I need them before that.  The trucks are as follows:

2002 Ford F-350 6" lift

2007 Dodge 3500 Dually 4" lift

The trucks are mainly on pavement but will run through jobsites on a regular basis.  I will not run a cheap shock and am looking for something that will last me a good year.  Thanks for the help.

I'm thinking the SkyJacker Platinums might be the way to go.  There really is no equal to a Bilstein shock, which is crap for me but I guess that's good for them.

King shocks are great shocks but yes overkill and a little pricey just as the Fox shocks are.  Great shocks none the less, but for the application they don't want to spend that kind of money.

The up side to the 2 are that they are rebuildable but neither of the guys will rebuild them, they will just replace them.

Thanks for the help, if you can think of any other brands please let me know.

rebuilding them is far cheaper than buying new shocks.. and you get to adjust your valving.. which is always nice for trucks that are lifted that high and carry big loads..
