HYDRO STEER LOCKS UP

i CANT FIGGER OUT WHY MY HYDRO STEER LOCKS UP WHEN I AM ON STEEP UP HILL (HARD UP).I have a stock ps pump in a 1980 buggy,with a 96 box,ps cooler, in line resevior(U shap1.5 copper pipe10'' long). PS fluid stays normal, but cant turn.After i get back on level ground its ok. Maybe I need more pump and more fluid?Any thoughts??? :help:

Can you post up some pictures of how you have it set-up? With pictures, we may be able to help you. I am having a hard time figuring out your reservoir set-up.

I got it set up the way you are describing,but i think that when the front of the truck goes up near vertical the u shape copper pipe empties and doesn't, allow fluid back to the reservoir.
