I was curious if any one has put a rotory engine in a yota??? Granted i dont know a thing about mazda but it seems to me that it'd be a good swap with the high revs and durabliliy.

i have had not so good luck with those engines.  my mazdas worst invention.

That engine is a blast, though, for racing.  But for crawling, you need a diesel if anything.

Mazda was buying back cars from people due to the fact the engine was a gutless turd when the RX8 first came out.

well I guess I'm dumb, only reason for asking was I got to drive a friends a while ago and it seemed pretty effing sweet especially at 8k rpm

Well, I found someone who makes a kit for a Mazda 13b to a Toyota W56 trans. Now, if weather someone put that into a yota or not it the question. With the right mods and etc, they can be some crazy motors, just have to be rebuilt often and have alot of little problems.

yeah the key being "at 8k rpm"  i dont know how you drive but i dont think i would ever hit 8k while rock crawlin!
