Elocker or duals
« on: Nov 02, 2009, 03:14:25 PM »
On a short suspense for a decision and it's one or the other for right now. Should I go with the stock geared duals or go with an Elocker? Thanks for the input.

Well if you have no lockers now I would do an e-locker. But if you have some kind of locker then duals for sure.

No locker but I do have a welded 3rd I'm putting in the rear axle. The Elocker needs gearing work, the full harness, etc. I guess I'm looking for instant gratification, leaning towards duals.

deffinetly go with duals.  Ive been wheeling with only a rear locker a dual ultimate cases for several years and the combination works very well.
My Build 1986 4runner SAS 36s etc

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike
