$75 for a pair is terrific BUT this a is a DD and it already has a ton of vibration. All I hear is how the solid mounts are bomb proof but vibrate a ton.

I run these and they have been awesome so far.   only 5k miles on them so far so we'll see how they do in the long run.  only $30 more.  ;)

I just welded the motor to the frame. No motor mounts and you don't have to run grounding wires from the block.

I haven't noticed a huge increase in vibration in the rock stomper motor mounts.

We've always had great success with the ol' drill-a-hole-and-add-a-bolt-to-the-stock-mount procedure. The thing I like about this is vibration will only be noticed under heavy acceleration, and will be completely smooth and comfortable under any other condition. They are simple to replace, practically free to carry a spare, replacements are found virtually anywhere, and best of all, it's OEM Toyota! :werd:

Do you leave the bolt loose (use a nylock) so it only comes into play with a pull-apart torque load?

So if one (I)  owns a welder would you rather go with the chain or the bolt?

Okay i just got the passenger side mount replaced.  WHAT a pain in the ass with the 3.4L.....
Ended up going with napa mounts, $40 a side.

So should i just cut a piece of chain for maybe 4 links and weld it from that top cap to the frame so its tight when i weld it?   Whats the best way to go about it?

The mount i just took off was Barely still together.
So now off to do the driverside mount.....  and speaking of mounts, my tranny mount is busted too.  :shake:

Leave a little slack in the chain so that there is some play for the motor to shake, but not enough slack that it rips the mount apart.  Oh and you may think about just chaining the drivers side since its the torque side.  Unless you feel like doing both.

okay.. thanks for the heads up.

I might do both, even if its overkill.

Off to finish this PITA project.

To be honest I have not done this to my drivers side mount yet (it's on the TODO list), but I imagine Marlin runs the nut down with a lock washer until its snug.

In fact, last year on Dusy, Marlin repaired a broken engine mount at Thompson Lake by performing this very modification on the trail. Check it out, I think this is Talon's rig:

Yup, just finished mine, driver side. I had to ream out the bolt hole 1/8in larger because it vibed like a mother if I didn't.

Mike, do you have a picture of that finished product.
