Backing plate eliminator?

Do you need to run that backing plate eliminator or can you do with out it and just take off the backing plate?

You need it I'm pretty sure, because if you dont run it the placement of the seal that bolts to it will be off.

Or you can trim down the stock one.

Yes you do need it, its also a spacer and seal.  I just cut the center from my backing plates, and used them.
