why go back to a cruiser case? Educate me :)

also, why are you guys making the gears 2.28 since they are custom anyway why not make them lower, say 4.0?

Don't know about the 2.28 gears. But I couldn't aford an atlas and 60's and I don't think I need them plus I want duel cases. I've never broke an cruiser drivetrain parts. Plus the rear out put flange on a cruiser case is like 5" lower then a mini truck(from main shaft center). That makes for a better rear d-line angle with such a long setup. Its not for everyone but its for me.I've been after this setup for a long time (700R4 tranny). The FJ40 case does suck but I like the FJ60 split case. That combo would be excellent.

I have an 80" wheelbase so lower output is a major plus, so is short..

I run a spicer18 now and its advantage is the low output, I don't know anything about cruiser stuff so thanks for the input. I have heard their cases are weak but that is all I have heard really. What ratio are they?

Off-center rear output matches off-center rear differential.

I believe we will be offering 4.70:1 first, and then 2.28:1 later. Why 2.28:1? Because believe it or not, some people think the other option is to low  :conf:

Dave, Just a hair over 6.5". Looks like 6" and 11/16th inch long  ;D

BTW, this is a really old picture. I have better pics, it's just that were still waiting for a custom input to get into our hands  :b_s:

what will the cost be, I won't have a donor tcase either - I believe your core is $150?

4.7 might be kinda low but 4.0 would be good :)

I don't have the length to go dual so what I get is what I get. With an SM420 you have a super granny low allready so I don't want to be much lower myself, maybe just lower the diff gears and stick with 2.28 - you are talkin me into 2.28 :)

Just don't let me talk you off a short plank since were not ready to go 100% full throttle on the cruiser adapters yet, I don't know all that there is to know.

Your best off to call up and speak to Dan on this one.

I'll chime in here. The 2.28 is first. 4.7 to follow. T-case strength? I've ran a 66 case and now a 72 with no additional support. Of course I do not drive like some of these new rock racers do. I've been running for 2 years and it has not broke yet. 1200 mi. to BHCC etc.
