well here it is my friend has a 1986 4-runner with 178,000 miles it runs like new new tires brakes starter and alternator. it has a 22re with 4;10's and hes not satified with the power and has decided to buy a 93 jeep cherokee sport 4x4 4 litre  inline 6 cylinder with an automatic 120,000 miles on it it runs strong.anyways they want 4,000 for the jeep seems like a good deal? is there anything he can do to get more power out of his 22re if so what if not hes going to sell it for 2,000  .

K&N airfilter will help a little.  Other then that i would think a header would give it more power.   without taking it apart and putting lodes of money into it i can't think of anything else.

Get a cam and a header with custom exhaust
87 runner, 4" trailmaster lift, 33" TSL/SX, 5.29's V6 e-locker, 22re that cost too much
