Extended Tip Spark Plugs.
« on: Jun 19, 2009, 12:50:51 AM »
Has anybody used a extended tip spark plug (on left, compared to normal)

on a later 22re engine?

On my plymouth w/slant 6 the engine runs smoother.   The theory being that the spark is moved closer to the center of the combustion chamber.    (slant 6 stock plug is 2 steps hotter than the 22re stock plug, but otherwise is the same)

They'll screwin, but I don't know if the piston top or valves will hit the extended tip.

I'd only run them if NGK made them.  Most people that run "other" spark plugs end up going back to NGK in their Toyota.

bosch sucks... some cars they work great, some they dont....

i would run iridiums if i had $40 to spend on plugs....

my ngk v powers are under $10 for all 4

couldnt the longer plug possibly hit the piston?

That's why I was asking if anyone has used them.........

If anyone has a head lying around, they probably could figure it out.
