Topic: 22ret to 22re ????

Picked up an 87 turbo truck with a blown head gasket and a cracked turbo cheap...want to put it together and give it to my 16 year old daughter....I have a fresh reman. 22re long block that I would like to put in..

what do you guys think I'm going to need to change ? will this be legal ? If anyone knows of ant threads on this subject let me know..got tired of searching 

so far what I think I'm going to change..I have all the parts off of a 4runner that I'm working on
long block
AFM
complete intake w/injectors
complete exaust
trans and t-case (change to w56 and 21 spline case  )

Snag ct26 turbo, swap the head gasket and run it!  Why change to a w56?

I'm aware of most of the upgrades to do if I want and was going to go that direction...but..This is for my 16 yr. old girl who lives 10 hours away for the time being...I figure this is the best way to make it reliable for little money.it also has 255 k miles

I'm keeping them around for myself along with the motor and what not..maybe stuff it in my buggy.

If you live in Cali you need to swap everything from a 91 22re or newer pickup. that's what the referee at school said when i asked the same question for my moms 86 turbo.
