ok, im bringing this back to the top. Just finished rebuilding the motor and its still making that noise. New oil pump and good pressure. Made sure the tensionor wasnt tightened too much and could move properly. I just had a thought though, i'm running the 22r valves and rocker assy. on the 20r head, could that be whats making so much noise? the 22r valves are a little shorter than the 20r valves but im pretty sure there are others out there running this setup. And they were adjusted to .008 and .012 cold.

valves need to be adjusted warm otherwise, they are not @ .008 or .012

full rebuild from engnbldr. my bad on the specs, .006 and .011 cold. i need to re adjust when warm to .008 and.012 though. it was just so much easier when the motor was sitting on the stand!

I adjusted my valves per Marlins directions on page 1 and it resolved my noisey valve issue.
Instantly!  It's also a hell of a lot easier to adjust valves on a cold engine!
Thanks Marlin!
