'79 to '81 Toyota clusters use 2 round plugs with round terminal ends.
'82 and newer use 3 or more flat plugs with flat pins.
Therefore major wire changeover required.

Oil sender idiot light---no problem

Gas tank sender---no problem but will drop quickly when empty

Water temp---no problem, will now read 1/4 gauge at 180 degree

Tach---no problem if 4cyl, way off and wrong if V6

Speedometer---no problem, will clip right on

All outher functions will work but you have a lot of custom wiring ahead of you.
This is not advised unless you are familiar with Toyota clusters.

Thanks Marlin. thats all i needed to now plus more. just thought it would be kinda cool to have 1st gen. cluster in an 88 and also i would gain the tach. the only down side would be keeping track of the milage. if i go through with it i will b sure to post pics.

Thanks, Mike
