Hey guys,
Today my physics teacher turned us on to
http://www.openoffice.orgIf you hate MS Office (like me) then you will really enjoy this suite. It's got a Word processor (like MS Word), a spreadsheet program (like MS Excel) a presentation program (like MS Powerpoint) and a graphics/drawing program.
I use MS Word all the time for essays and I hate how it operates. I just basically dislike microsoft all together
The best thing about it is that it can open all MS file formats and save as MS formats, and it can create not only Adobe Pagemaker files with one mouse click (PDF files) but it can also make Shockwave files from your presentations (SWF files from macromedia) - these options are add-ons to MS Office that costs big bucks.
And wanna hear the great part? ITS FREE. Complete free. Even the source code is free to view if you are into programing (or are a nerd).
It's a 64mb download and takes up about 250mb on your harddrive. Man its a great replacement for MS word and the like, FINALLY!
