how can i lengthin my steering rod to my steering box

when i was doing my sas kit on my 94 pickup i had to reposition my steering box and move it foward one inch now i cand put my column back on so i took it off and need to find a safe reliable way to lengthen it. any help?

drill out the 2 roll pins and it will pull apart farther, bolt it up to the box and tack the slip (outer) to the shaft.

I had similar issues, my box is 3" forward of stock.
I cut the steering shaft, and spliced it with 1/4" wall tubing over lapping the shaft inches on each side, then welded it all together.
Works fine- simple fix, know other folks who have done the same thing.

Same here, I just added piece of tubing to it, from my understaning, that shaft doesnt see force of the wheels, just the forces of your arms. Am I correct?

drilled the pins and pulled it apart here as well but you can buy a spacer like would come with a body lift and put in there

No, think about it this way, what happens when your wheels hit a rock just right on the trail? The steering wheel spins out of your hand.

The rag-joint absorbs some of the shock and movement of the shaft but there is plenty of force being applied to the shaft. The splines are long enough to adjust for your inch of movement, I say pull the pins and slide them out.
