maybe ask kneedownnate, hes the "boat" tech

Doesn't he do the mechanicals?

I used to refinish yachts in college...fun job, bad pay, but I got to spend my weekends out on the docks so it was kool.  That Interlux is some tough paint and when it gets worn it can be sanded and makes great primer for the next coat.

Now that I think of it, I kinda wish I had used it on mine.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

If you build it, I would like to come down and get it..November this year enough time.. That way you and I can do some wheeling together, and maybe get karen really hooked...

Yes it's GREAT for tight hard climbs...one less pedal to use plus it picks the right gear everytime and never blows a shift... :driving: D 2 1.  works everytime.

Honestly, I've read up as much as I can on that method and couldn't for the life of me see the benefit vs. spraying.  The work between coats seems to be excessive.  Spraying is fairly simple and offers an easier way to get better coverage.  But that's just my opinion, and I'm nowhere near a good painter!

topar

I used brushes and rollers and paint from Wallyworld.  I painted the frame and axles at one point and the cab another time last was the flatbed and exo.  Just painted as it came to that point in the build.  I could not tell you how long it took.  Easy to touch up with brush and rollers however next time everything will be one color.  It was a pain to do the exo. I voted for keeping it simple.

Colt

Last night I tried the brush and roller thing... man this was a mess.

For this somewhat of black I needed more than 2 1/2 hours... :rivers:

I try it again with the upside of the body.  :headscratch: Perhaps it will work better on smoother surfaces?
