Topic: HP diff newbie question

Hey,
So i have a HP front with 4.88 gears and a detroit in it right now.  I am thinking of putting an e-locker in and taking the detroit out.  I have done a ton of searching and this site in particular has cleared most of my questions up.

Then talking to my friend, who is helping me build my truck, he said that i would need to get a whole new third because the elocker thirds have a special mount built in and mine doesn't??  So my question is can i just buy any elocker and throw it in or do i have to buy a whole new HP elocker third from an fj 80 and re gear again?

You have to get a elocker third. its different then a regular third. and yes i has a different bolt pattern, you will have to modify your housing to get it to fit.

get an ARB instead. pretty much the same thing, but air instead of power.
