magnetic heading and outside temp gauge help!!!!

my dad has a 2006 tacoma, and the magnetic heading and outside temperature reading gauge just quit working. an ybody have this happen to them before. and what did you do to fix it?

Is it in the rearview mirror or is in the overhead console?

check the wires going to it ?    fuse  ?   how about did you or he install anything that requires drilling in to trim pieces ?

You will have to replace the unit. There is a TSB 0051-09 is the number came out in 1-22-09. says to replace unit. If your dads tacoma is under 3 year 36,000 miles then it will be warranty

yea its less than 3 years old

it is under three years but, but it has over 50,00 miles on it , so its not under warranty i beleive.. the manual didnt say anything about a fuse. and he didnt do any drilling or anything,, it just stopped working. does anybody know what fuse it would be??

I don't if what unclejpl4x4 found is the same as this fix all I read on that link was the fuse locations but its not a fuse cause it works off the taillight and ecu-ig fuses. Found a fix though that says to remove it and look inside the unit & repair the broken solder joint. All toyota wants us to do is replace the unit.
