it is more expensive. its not hard to put everything together its only 45 minutes to install the crawlbox. i feel that the cost are outweighed by the gear choices.

I guess it depends on how you use your rig.  Mine wasn't right until I had the rear differential rotated to correct the angles.  I drive mine on the highway so it needs to be nearly perfect.
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Either way you go about it, duals, 4.7s, or both, the first time you wheel with good transfer case gearing it will bring a smile to your face...  I have a $100 peice of crap '81 that smokes like an SOB and has wires dangling everywhere (heck... I'm not sure why it even runs!) and I'm still going to put duals in it sometime!

I want a report of the first time this guy wheels with his new case!

What is your rig?  My 85 extended cab didn't have the drivetrain issues that my 89 4Runner does, but my lift is a bit taller as well.  It's all an overall combination I guess.
