I would build something that looked more like a budbuilt cross member but for the gas tank not the case.

With the thin metal you should be able to hug the body to clear the drive line and have better support.

Hey look I'll handle the fabricating you just :rara: me on.

 :gap:

I don't really have room to wrap something under it and across to the other side. My drive line will be very close to the gas tank due to the slightly offset pinion on the 14bt. I thought about cutting out the floor and bending a piece of tube up and over the drive line to replace the part of the horse collar I took out. The thing is if I cut any more out of the cab I might as well ditch it and go with a sheet of ply wood and a milk crate. I am going to give the bracing idea I posted above a try. This should be simple and fast and I don't think it will cause any problems. I have been  for a few days. hopefully I will get some work done on it tomorrow.

I did not mean to have it under your tank, but to have your tank attach to it just like it does now. Instead of having it bolt to the 3" x 3" cross member it would bolt to a 3/8" x 3" cross member. The budbuilt cross member was to show that it could be thin.
I guess if you don't have 1/2" of clearance between the drive shaft and the body then you are stuck with 15gal of fuel on the end of a diving board.  :gap:

I see what your saying.  That would probably fit. I've still got the pig sars so I have not even looked at it in a couple days.

Some guy has a drw Chevy 60 front on CL for 500$ but I've been feeling to  to deal with a 500 lb. axle right now. I'm thinking since I'm getting two sets of hummer rims (9 total) it would be cheaper to switch to drw hubs and wheel spacers in the rear instead of getting the rims recentered. This would also make it easier to find a spare if I fubar a rim. I'm Also thinking of having a set of Spicer lockouts broached out to 35 spline and ditching the warn junk. Hopefully if the guy still has the axle when I call it will still have the spicer lockouts.

I have done a lot of research on the p-pump and am still not sure if this is a high volume pump or not. This is the only one I found that had a remote reservoir which I wanted. If the pump does not have the flow I need I will replace it but for now it will work to get things rolling.

P-pump with remote reservoir.

Looking for a little input on my hydro ram setup. I would like to run the ram off of my driver side high steer arm. The problem is my oil pan is in the way so the ram will have to be mounted at an angle. I think I will have to limit the ram somehow because starting at an angle I think the throw will be to long. The angle will be at it's steepest with the wheels strait ahead and will move closer to the axle center line (and away from my oil pan) when steered in either direction. As long as I make sure I clear the U bolts when it makes it's arc I should be ok. This is my first time setting up a ram so if this will not work for whatever reason feel free to correct me.

In the pic. the old shock laid across the top the high steer arm and leaf spring represents the ram and the angle it needs to sit at. The angle could be made sharper if wanted but not shallower. For reference the high steer arms face backwards and the tie rod toward the front of the truck. Axle is a Chevy d60 with Dedenbear knuckles.

Got the p-pump installed on the engine. This proved to be much more of a pain than I anticipated. I initially did not think it would fit but with some cutting I was able to shoe horn it in there.

Cut away brackets for factory AC.

Rear bracket.

Front and rear brackets.

Belt routing. I will need a longer belt to include the alternator.
