84+ bed and 83- cab?
« on: Jan 18, 2009, 03:28:57 AM »
I have an 84 reg cab shortbed that has a good solid bed on it but the cab forward and the trucks frame is trashed. My question is will the 84 up bed's body lines match up with a 83 down cab? I want to go with a 79-83 cab and frame because I like the way they look better. I found a few 79-83 cab's and frames in great shape that I can get for around 200 buck's for both the cab and frame. Will they line up?

I've heard of peoplel having to put on a small body lift to get the lines to line up. It won't be perfect, but...

i wonder what that would look like? some of the 84's had beds that looked somewhat like the gen1's but i think the fender wells were still very gen2.

Yeah, some 2nd gens had the exterior frame rails like out 1st gens, but definitely different fenders. IMO they don't look good mismatched, but...sometimes if you really want a bed on there instead of a flatbed, and all you've got is a different gen bed to work with, why not.
