Quick EGR Plug Question
« on: Jan 13, 2009, 08:48:33 AM »
Hey I know my vacuum modulator is no good right now, but my valve is functioning (not stuck open, anyways), so until I either block the system off completely or can afford to replace the vacuum modulator, I want to know if I've closed it off the right way. I pulled all the hoses going into the modulator and egr valve and plugged them. So now the vacuum hoses are plugged, but all the ports on the modulator and valve are open. Since they operate on vacuum, and my egr is closed, that's fine, right? No vacuum leak? So again the hoses are off the egr and plugged, but the ports on the egr & modulator are open. In my mind that's ok, no vacuum leak, but I wanted to make sure I don't need to plug the ports, too.

Yeah hopefully it will only be a month or two, then I can afford to replace the modulator. Thanks!
