Most outstanding, makes me reconsider my bed, that i have not built yet.
A real man builds it... Then his wife points out all that he did wrong.

i would love to get those turbine mags from you..loved those since i was little but probably couldn't justify the shipping....

I traded them for a crossbow. I really liked the turbo's, but they're to narrow for the Gumbos....

The bed came off a golf course tractor, don't know what kind..I found it a field years ago.. the fenders are Sturdybilt trailer fenders....

Got a few things finished up this weekend, actually have room in the cave for 2 of the trucks at the same time.... :cheese:

Fixed up a lockable console/cup holder....

And got the interior done, including working seatbelts....

I also mounted the front rail for the bikini top... Hopefully I will be able to get the top & doors finished the next time I'm off..It sucks hopping in on a wet seat.... :smack:

In case it rains while parked outside.....Hey don't laugh, nothing is worse than driving home with a wet a$$...

While I was off (Mon&Tues) I mounted the shovel & axe.. The mounts are modified hangers from Lowe's with velcro to hold the tools in place..It works but I'm not real happy with it..I need some kind of mounts designed to hold a shovel and axe..Any ideas???

Then i put in some anchors for my cooler...

I also installed my CB...I needed to raise and move the CB back so I could open my console (ammo box) and the plugs would clear the floor....Cabnet slides worked fine..

Then I got to thinking, what if I get caught in another downpour??? So I yodarigged a cover for the CB.

While test fitting the cover, I thought it would make a good arm rest....I had one from one of my old patrol cars....I will recover it when I do the top and doors...Gonna try this weekend if I don't get OT...

truck looks awsome.  Time to spend some time on a real suspension and wheel it.  Bed looks cool, color is perfect.  Hope this engine lasts for you. Put a diesel in it next.

The suspension has been working pretty good for what I do..But the front springs are starting to sag....It's just a toy, something to tinker with....I don't like to spend money on, but would like to ad crossover steering and better front springs...Or I'll just play with it the way it is....If I can ever get time....OT this Fri. and double OT Sat.

Not much new to post...

Never let your buddies fix the drive shaft on your HEEP......A friend of mine broke a u-joint and didn't have the time to fix it. So another friend & I took it on ourselves to fix it for him...

Got tired of having no rear view mirrors and I had a Trooper stare me down the other day...So I yodarigged this...

I also got the AC working.....YAAAAAAAAAY

Finally got to go wheeling.....
Going in one of several holes on this trail..Buzzards Bluff

Not stuck here..I had what my buddy called a "PRETTY FIRE"...

On the other side..

At the Bluff...Awesome view from here..

The fire was caused by the altenator harness, burnt to a crisp, but the truck made it home...

All in all it was a good afternoon of wheeling...I can't wait to go again...

I was buzzing down the road yesterday at about 60mph when the truck started growling...Let off the gas and the growl stopped.. Well about a half mile later the truck locked up and started bouncing all over the place....Damn near rolled...I got stopped looked under the truck, but couldn't see any thing obvious....Tried to get it moving, NOTHING but a lot of GROWLING and clanking..Pulled the T-case into 4 high and the truck would move, barely...Limped it to my fathers house (was heading there) then drug it home last night...Started to tear it down...when I pulled the front shaft, oil started pouring out of the front yoke on the t-case....Haven't finished pulling the trans out yet...

Anyone ever had a transfer case crap out??? I have had 10 first & second gen trucks and have never had a problem with the transfer cases......

When you pull the front output flange off  it will leak because that helps seal the case. Don't know why it wouldn't move in 2wd but would in 4wd. Because 2wd has to spin in order to give 4wd power.

It has been a long frustrating 2 months...A friend of mine worked on the trans for me, built one from the 2 junk ones I had...Well we thought it would work...as soon as I tightened down the cover everything would bind up....After several hours of screwing with it, I threw in the towel and bought a trans & Tcase out of an 89..So far everthing looks like it will work...I built a crossmember/skid plate so that handled moving the crossmember..I got the front shaft out of the 89, it fits....I will have to shorten the back shaft & my spare back shaft.. I have a long week at work..Hopefully I can finish everything up next weekend...I will try to get a picture of the crossmember/skid plate...

Those years trans were the weak links even the 84's had issues they just were not made to take the beating we give them. 5th gear is the cause just can not take the load. My 80 was swapped out for an 85 engine and trans, had to move the trans crossmember for that swap too. You have an awesome looking rig, I love the utilitarian bed that is actually useful unlike the truggy style.

Thanks Rocksurfer....I just ordered the a shifter bushing for the transfer case...I still have 2 topshift cases...Can I use 1 of them with the forward shift case that is on the truck to run dual transfer cases? I'm not ready to put duals in the truck just yet, but hopefully in the future..

You cannot mix top shift & forward shift unless you buy a top shift conversion kit for your forward shift case, There is a thread somewhere on here about where somebody asked bigmike the same question.
