regearing in PNW?
« on: Sep 09, 2004, 02:07:32 PM »
i've never done it before, so here goes.  what's the typical going price in the northwest if i bring my thirds to a shop to have them regeared?  i think i'm going to want a full detroit in the rear(since it's supposedly a stronger carrier) but i may possibly go aussie or lockright.  front's gonna remain open for now.

i'm kind of trying to work out a budget for my build up(man, is it hard!) and this is one of the numbers i haven't been able to figure out since my wheelin buddies are hillbillies and would rather run 38s with 4.10s than bother with regearing

western WA, olympia specifically

might have to ask the one friend of mine that's actually regeared.  i believe out the door his tacoma ran him $900, but this was some back woods, unknown shop in somebody's back yard.

anybody know what randy's charges?

Damn that hurts.  If you buddies that are "hillbillies" for using 38's with 4.10's what does that make me for using 38's with 3.90's?
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

i don't think you could get that bad DWT, one of these guys did an SAS on his truck a year ago and swapped in the factory push-pull steering as well :slap:

Randy's quoted me $400 to set up a 12 bolt, not counting parts. Thats what turned me away from his shop for good.
