I remember mine being a pain to get out and it ended up at the bottom of the case.  It took some magnet fishing to get it back out.  Good Luck.

I'm down to just getting the pin out. It looks like the PO may have beat on it?? It will move when I move the shift rail in and out. It acts like it's some how binding in the hole. I've tried the air trick and a magnet won't pull it out either.

I always use a strong magnet or hit the side of the case with a rubber hammer till it falls out.

Just a thought, maybe spray cleaner in there, get a probe with a little strong glue.  Get the probe to glue to the pin and wait for it to dry.  Wigglel pin out.  Far fetched, but it has been done before in other applications.
