ive been apart of this fantastic BBB for 4 or 5 years, and love it-but i need to make a suggestion.

we have a for sale thread

we have a wanted thread

both are littered with "wtt" "barter" ect.

i think that we need to create a barter thread, craigslist has one, works well

its simple, post what you have up for grabs, and what it is you may take in trade or are looking for/hope to find.

i think that this could be a tool that benifits the marlin family of users. of course it would have to be subject to the same restrictions/rules that the for sale threads live bye

hell ill even volunteer to modorate it

anyone else think this is a great idea?

I don't know... I'm thinking, if people know who beat them out by offering a smidgen more might be slightly POed. Or am I looking at this wrong? This sounds like ebay. Kind of.

la-la land is nice this time of year

I have thought about installing an Auction system on here, however I am not sure how to keep Marlin Crawler, Inc. non liable. I could create a new forum, like "Auctions" and only have the auction system available there.

I will also look into a system similar to Craigs List.

Question: Exactly how does a Barter forum differ from a For Sale forum? Do you guys want have a separate forum specifically for "Or Best Offer" listings??

it would be for those of us that cannot exactly afford to purchase outright the items for sale.

in this forum a seller could make a suggested trade value and some things he needs.

i dont think a auction is what im describing, more like craigslist "trade/barter" section-
for instance= ill trade a third member for a header, or ill trade 4.88s for 5.29s, trade roll bar for sliders...ect.

I did not know Craig's List had this feature. I will get this setup later this week.

like i said initially, this could be an option. i really suggested this to be an extension or even small improvement on our current for sale threads. in the end im sure the details and rules will have to be pre determined by the seller.
