Topic: got a question for you dodge guys

ok so i know someone that has a 96 dodge ram cumins or what ever it is dodge diesel full sized 8 lug truck. so it has the diesel and a 5 speed, and Dana 60's and he insists it has a gear drive T-case and i was almost positive it wasn't so i climbed under and looked and i'll be damned if it doesn't have a new process. now i told him that new process only made chain drive. Now i might be wrong but i think im right so any one know if its a gear or chain drive? thanks for the help.

NP208/NP231/NP241 were all possible 94-99.  Those are all Chain-Drive cases.

Earlier body style dodges (91-93) did use an NP205 though, behind the Cummins engine. It could have been swapped in.

its all stock and if i remember right it did say it was a np231 thanks i thought i was right

ive got a buddy who built a np205 for his 98 cummins, used a ford 205 housing and dodge guts
