come on, im a mechanic by trade no why would i try to go and do that. ive got bump stops atop the u bolt plates.

the reason they hit the body mounts was beacuse i had no shock on when i flexed it out the first time.

 

The flex of the springs is going to be the same with or without shocks, unless the shock is limiting the travel. When you said it hit the mounts because there was no shock, I assumed you expected the shock to prevent this.


The reason they hit the body mount isn't because of no shock, it's because of the increased length of the spring in relation to the location of the spring hanger.  :beerchug:

trust me with shock on my up travel was really limited. it almost bottoms out on the shock so thats why i had to install the bump stops. i flexed my truck out for the first time and got 31" under the tire now its only about 18". the springs are limited by shock travel thats for sure. if got 12 inchers up front, all the flex is in the down travel. how much up travel do you really need?
